HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL IT TAKE to FEEL BETTER?

There is no straight answer for this question. Depending on the issues you are experiencing and the level of complexity involved, you may feel better immediately or it may take some time. Sexual, relationship and life issues can be complex, overlapping and multi-dimensional and may be caused by a combination of physiological, pharmacological, psychological, emotional, relational, spiritual and cultural factors.  All of the issues affecting you may be clear in the first session or it may take multiple sessions. Issues may seem simple to start with and become more complex or the other way around. The initial sessions will involve a process of assessment and once this is completed we discuss how much work there is to do and the direction of therapy. I am client centered and solution focused and progress is a measurable outcome.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT THERAPIST?

All therapists work differently, employing different therapeutic models and their own style. Finding the right therapist is a deeply personal decision and you have to feel good in their presence, be able to trust them and believe in their therapeutic approach and skill set.

Research studies show that a strong therapeutic rapport between the therapist and client is important for effective therapy to occur so it is important to gauge how you feel with the therapist during your first appointment.

DO YOU DO PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS?

No. As an industry standard Counsellors do not conduct any physical assessments or manipulations and do not touch their clients. Referrals to specialised medical practitioners will be made if necessary.
